Mark argues that installing these lights is solely for the entertainment and pleasure of a select few while disregarding the potential harm it may cause to others. As president of a non-profit organization called Soft Lights Foundation, Mark is dedicated to advocating for those affected by “LED light discrimination.” He is taking on this case at his own expense, representing himself in court to bring attention to this often overlooked issue.

Admin of the federal highway remark
The Admin of the Federal Highway was approached about this matter, yet it declined to provide a statement. Likewise, the remaining defendants have not responded to requests for comment from The Standard. Even Illuminate, the organization responsible for installing the LED lights on the Bay Bridge, has chosen to remain silent on this matter despite not being listed as a defendant in the case.
In a 20-page legal document, the plaintiff has outlined the negative effects of LEDs, stating effects can even lead to extreme thoughts of self-harm upon exposure to even small amounts of LED light. The suit also highlights the vast number of individuals with disabilities, including autism, who are now confined to their homes due to the severe reactions they experience from LED lights.
