Bettaway Enters Third Year Partnering with We Make Supporting Innovative Jobs Program for Adults with Autism

People diagnosed with Autism can find incredible success in the professional world and even establish long-lasting, satisfying careers like anyone else.

However, employers and managers must take into account that some individuals may require direct training and support programs tailored to specifically what they need.

Bettaway Helping Community

Thankfully, there are some great companies like Bettaway that have been inclusive since they began operations in 2023. They (bettaway) are a leader in supply chain; specializing in freight trucking, warehousing, inventory management, product packing, order fulfillment, and logistics management solutions for beverage and consumer goods companies.

Among Bettaway’s most celebrated efforts is its partnership with We Make, in which autistic adults are employed and receive training. To date, this partnership has involved more than 150 families, and people with autism have been employed to do such work as packing beverage products & sorting products.

The WE MAKE organization empowers individuals with Autism

Bettaway gives thanks to the continued support from WE MAKE (the non-profit organization that helps people with autism and other disabilities gain job skills and employment). It serves as a good ground for all parties to win.

In the past, their Non-profit has successfully worked with companies to make sure ASD individuals receive support in workforce. During the pandemic, for instance, it worked with the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services to offer telework jobs to autistic adults.

97% retention of program graduates

According to founder and executive director Ali Siddiqui, this initiative has proven successful in retaining 97% of program graduates as employees. It serves as a testament to the effectiveness of this innovative approach in addressing unemployment within the autism and IDD communities. He also adds that the key to this success lies in committing to the effort, having faith in their abilities, nurturing their skills, and providing opportunities for individuals to take control of their futures. We Make and Bettaway will continue working together to create a better tomorrow for these individuals.

There are more innovative ways to address employment opportunities for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. A growing number of companies recognize the value and unique abilities these individuals bring to the workforce.
