Aceing Autism
That’s why “Aceing Autism” steps in. It’s a program designed to get kids with ASD into tennis, and it teaches them the game in a fun way. The goal is to promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle for Autistic by involving them in a sport that not only boosts their physical strength but also enhances their social skills.
In an interview with one of the Aceing Autism Officials, they emphasized the importance of incorporating fun outdoor elements, especially in modern times when Nintendo and other sedentary entertainment alternatives have become prevalent. He highlighted the benefits that come with engaging in Tennis, such as honing hand-eye coordination and developing soft skills like waiting in line and exchanging handshakes and high-fives with peers.
The official also mentioned that the organization allows participants to learn how to volley and execute forehands, which could potentially lead them to try out for their school’s tennis team.
He further expressed his excitement towards the progress made by one of the players who, despite being a “bit goofy,” as he puts it, is improving his serving skills and overall gameplay.
The commence on 1st June
The organization’s summer program, which will commence on 1st June, is open to all interested individuals and will run for a duration of two weeks. Despite facing challenges such as cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, the organization has successfully trained dedicated players like Jeremy Hare and Mason, who have been part of the program since its inception six to seven years ago. Not only do they come from different schools in Sacramento but also from neighboring cities like Folsom.
Registration for the program is ongoing and can be done online or by contacting the organization via their official email address. The training will take place at various locations, including high schools, middle schools, private clubs, and public courts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization utilized public courts in Sacramento and Elk Grove for training sessions.
Therefore, regardless of your location, as long as there are tennis courts available, you can participate in the program and improve your skills.
