Meet NineFingers, a passionate musician known for his unique ability to blend various musical styles. At the tender age of 12, he’d pick up a guitar and play his heart out.
However, one thing made him worry often—he had always felt separate from others, something he would later realize was due to his being on the autism spectrum.
Inspiration
You can only imagine his joy when he discovered that his music was the one thing that allowed others to truly see him for who he was. This early experience ignited a fire within him, driving him to pursue music for the next 30 years. He describes his creative process as “indulging in dessert first,” meaning he follows whatever inspires and excites him at the moment, resulting in a diverse and ever-evolving musical repertoire, with a brief pause as he delved into dodgeball – another passion of his.
In an interview, NineFingers encourages others not to limit themselves by worrying about their skills but to embrace new opportunities and be willing to take risks. For him, music is a means of self-expression and growth rather than conforming to a specific genre or expectation. His passion for exploring different styles and sounds continues to shape his musical journey, making him stand out as an artist who is unafraid to challenge himself and break boundaries.
NineFingers Artistry
This is especially evident in his 2019 album “Loop,” which delves into deeply personal and challenging topics, such as PTSD, depression, and addiction. Through songs like “Lilith” and “PTSD Ferryman,” NineFingers bravely confronts his own “demons” and uses music as a therapeutic outlet. In doing so, he creates raw and authentic pieces and encourages others to open up about their struggles and find solace in the power of music. Despite its risks, this autobiographical approach to music has undoubtedly helped NineFingers grow both as an artist and an individual, showing that true artistry goes beyond just surface-level entertainment.
